Broken Bells is artist–producer Danger Mouse and singer James Mercer (the shins). their debut single "The High Road" was made available as a free download on their official site. The self-titled debut album is due out in the U.S. on March 9, 2010. It leaked to file-sharing websites on December 22, 2009 but WEB SHERIFF is doing a great job of shutting shit down.

XMAS TOUR IS DONE!!!!! MERRY XMAS

Just got home from our XMAS TOUR throughout BC and Alberta. shit was awesome! cold as balls just about every where we went but it was worth it. We got to have some really good acts jump on for a few of the shows (Okay City, DJ Dopey, Subway, Dragon Fli Empire etc) and the crowds killed it every night! We even got some presents along the way. Hope you guys are ready for Sweatshop in the new year. As usual we'll be touring none stop but we're also set to release a grip of new material.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to party with us and have a merry christmas, happy holidays and all that.

XMAS TOUR CONTINUES

Tour has been great so far. getting some work done dropping beats in the hotel before the shows. The shows themselves have been awesome. Grand Prairie was crazy. best crowd we've ever had come through. We went after and got some Guiness. It was like we were in a House of Pain video. Last night We played Edmonton. Hip hop is alive in Edmonton. I haven't done a "hip hop" night that was an actual hip hop night in years. really cool. Tonight we'll be in Lethbridge with Dj Dopey.

Played Banff last night. it was cold as balls. people shouldn't be that cold.... its wrong. The show was great though. Deezuz drove in from Calgary and set things off. Then Okay City killed things before Kyp played some tracks off of the new album 12:12. really hype crowd. One dude drank a beer out of his shoe on stage when we finished. Banff is awesome. Jasper is tonight.

I'm a sucker for back in the day shit. I never grew out of my love for "golden era" hip hop. I never will. If you're the same then I probably don't need to tell you that this is an album you should have. I forgot how good Cypress Hill was. Well, not really but it's been a while since i gave them a listen. Everything from B Real's snotty voice to Muggs dirty beats and even Sen Dog's "I'm choking on a chicken bone" backups make for a classic album. Sen Dog's backups are actually some of the best shit on this record. All I want to do is where a tilly hat , some plad and smoke a blunt.

Technics is dead

News has emerged that iconic turntable manufacturers Technics will be stopping production on their universally loved Technics 1200s and Technics 1210s.

The company behind the production of the Technics turntables Panasonic announced that they would cease the manufacture of Tehcnics turntables in February next year, citing an increasing decline in sales as the motivation behind the line’s demise.

Feels like one day i'm going to look at my gear and realize i'm using antiques to make beats.......

The Native American Indian genocide was a deliberate, calculated and insidious attempt at destroying the native peoples. It is considered to be one of the most horrific genocides known to man.

It has been estimated that there were up to 25 million natives in North America before the white man came. By the 1890's there were known only to be approximately 250,000. Of course those figures cannot be truly known just by their nature and time period, but the point is the devastation percentage wise is unequaled.

The white man, given their belief in their basic right to the lands and their arrogance in thinking they were superior to everyone else, systematically set to destroy the Indian.

This was accomplished in many ways. First, their weapons were superior. Then there were diseases, murder of infants, children and women to erradicate the native on that level, poisoning of water sources, destruction of food sources, etc etc.

SO.....now today, most of us give thanks for our own modern comforts without thinking about those who paid the real price for "freedom" in this land.

i give thanks for my family, friends, health and knowledge of self.
and i give my heart felt apologies to those who lost so much, just so the cowardly lions could have there kingdom.

CORTES SHOW

Cortes was awesome! really cool place. I don't think we've ever been treated so nice. by the end of the night we got a drunken buffet and were sipping liquor from bottles that looked like mrs buttersworth and tasted like christmas. I want to go back in the summer.

This is an animated video and quick little song i did a while back. I came home from tour and threw on this record. while i was brushing my teeth about to call it a night my wife said "did you just hear what she sung?" I pulled it back, heard the sample, threw the beat together real quick smoked a joint and the song wrote itself. woke up the next morning and made the video while eating bran flakes...BOOYAH!!

Had a week off after Nelson & Kelowna. Kelowna was a shit fest....in a good way. Security was tossing kids off stage, the front row was getting crushed, girls were crowd surfing, everyone was jumping, screaming, hands up and all that good stuff. awesome.

Next up for November we have the official release party for the new Kyprios solo record titled "12:12". thats happening Nov 20 in Vancouver at Pop Opera on Hastings. The next day Sweatshop is playing on Cortez Island Nov 21st at the Sunset. Cortez is one of the coolest islands i've ever been too. Hyped to be going back.
